Wall collapse in Guiguinto, 11 died including a pregnant woman

Guiguinto Bulacan–In a warehouse construction in Guiguinto, Bulacan, a wall collapsed causing the death of 11 individuals including minors and a pregnant woman on January 19.
The said individuals were identified as workers in the warehouse construction under Number One Golden Dragon Realty Corporation located along Mac Arthur Highway, Barangay Ilang-ilang.
Because of the said accident, Guiguinto Mayor Ambrosio “Boy” Cruz said that all the construction works on the site were stopped and the municipal engineer with the structural engineer will discover the possible charges against the contractor of the warehouse.
Based on the report submitted to Senior Supt. Ferdinand Divina, the seven-year-old minor was identified as Dave Avelino from Bagong Silang, Caloocan City, the 14 year old child laborer was Edmund Carpio and the pregnant woman was identified as Agnes Tan-Santos..
Meanwhile, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) led by Provincial Director Zorina Aldana conducted their own investigation regarding the accident. Bulacan Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado advised Provincial Engineer to check the construction of the buildings in the area.
