Some poems are best when shared, that is why the Hiraya Kolektib held their first ever Slam poetry, December 15, 2014 at Room 209 of the Federizo Hall.
The Slam poetry was open to everyone, thus having the theme "Bagsakan; Ambagan ng Talinhaga! Bawal ang etsepwera!"
The event was attended by students from different courses in Bulacan State University, who has read their original poems or their friends' poems which ranged from love, personal, nationalistic, loss, and everything else in between. Each portion of the event which was called "bagsakan" was opened by a special number by students and members of the Hiraya Kolektib.
Valiant Gomez, Hiraya Kolektib’s president thanked all the participants and audiences of the event. He apologized for the delay of program and changing of the venue. Bagsakan’s original venue was in the Heroes Park to match the cultural ambiance. Due to unexpected bad weather, it was moved to FH 209 in Federizo Building.
He also recalled that Bagsakan started only from a friendly conversation with his organization members.
The program ended with a speech from Ms. Bay-Viz Caleon, the adviser of Hiraya Kolektib, where she expressed her appreciation for those who attended their first Slam Poetry.
