Celebrating the year of the wooden goat, the Confucius Institute, together with Bulacan State University hosted a Chinese cultural show, February 19, 2015 at the Robinson's place Malolos.
Students taking Mandarin classes in Bulacan State University coordinated with Confucius Institute to come up with 20 different performances which started at 2 in the afternoon and ended at 6 in the evening.
Vice President of External Affairs, Dr. Cecilia Geronimo, gave her opening message where she encouraged the audience to start the Chinese New Year right by getting rid of the negativity in their lives as it is stated in the Chinese customs.
Ms. Liang Shuang, one of the professors from Confucius Institute, also showed her gratitude to those who attended the show with her short message.
"I hope that you can enjoy watching the performances and know some Chinese culture from the performances." said Liang Shuang.
The performances of the students from Bulacan State University consisted of different themes and categories- from Tai Chi and dance numbers to song numbers mostly from the students who joined the Confucius Institute's Chinese Singing contest which was held last September 23, 2014 at the BulSu Hostel.
However, the Confucius Institute's faculty and staff surprised the audience as well as the students who performed with their Grand finale where they showed their true talent in singing.
The show was followed by a Chinese dragon and lion dance around Robinson's Malolos as part of the mall's celebration of the Chinese New Year.
