A band gig was organized as a preamble to the feast of St. Sebastian on January 20, 2014.
The event was held at Mabini Street, San Sebastian, Hagonoy, Bulacan, with local youth bands, performing to the neighborhood.
“Para mapasaya ‘yung mga tao,” said Lino Suyom, head organizer and representative of the local organization, Los Guapos, emphasizing that their group’s goals was to provide their neighborhood the enjoyment to relieve stress.
He added that the event was decided in the first of January, when Suyom and the members of the group were celebrating the New Year and concurrently, having a meeting in one of the members’ house.
However, organizing such an event that required the technicalities of the sound system, rent of the instruments and the stage, was made possible by the citizens’ conjoined efforts in collecting funds. They sent solicitations to their acquaintances and also to the village captain.
Appearing as a guest of honor, Los Guapos invited Hon. Michael G. Fermin of the First Congressional District – Province of Bulacan, who also joined the locales’ night festivities and sang along with one of the bands who participated.
